EVC and CTEK provide EV charging for Phoenix House office development  

Phoenix House offers 100,000 sq ft of prestigious workspace to tenants and businesses from across Basildon, the largest town in Essex. With such high tenancy rates, it was imperative that Phoenix House provided an accessible EV charging solution to meet the demand of electric vehicles currently on site. 

Working with property development company Stockplace, EVC conducted a free site survey to determine the availability of power and establish the optimum location for the charging bays. During this process, EVC looked at the possibility of a new supply of power from the Grid, as well as the availability of spare power, and established that the most cost effective route was to utilise the spare capacity. 

EVC has installed four dual socket, three phase, 22kW CTEK CHARGESTORM CONNECTED 2 (CC2) EV chargers, powered by Phoenix House's existing building supply. Using Ohme software, the CC2 chargers are fully compliant with UK Smart Charging Regulations, and each dual socket CTEK charger serves two parking bays, making eight charging bays in total.  

These eight charging bays are available for use by all tenants, rather than dedicating charge points to a single tenant, thereby creating a workplace charging hub. The entire installation process was completed within five days to minimise disruption for Phoenix House tenants.  

Stockplace has opted for EVC's management solution, with EVC providing ongoing maintenance and management of the charge points. The client has complete freedom to structure pricing for charger usage according to their requirements.  

All CTEK’s chargers sold in the UK are fully compliant with UK Smart Charging Regulations. They are also open charge point protocol (OCPP) compliant, meaning that further chargers and load balancing solutions likes CTEK’s NANOGRID can be seamlessly added to the same system, as demand for EV charging inevitably grows.
